Fana and Baqa - The Art of Dying and Becoming
A New Look at the Spiritual Practices of the Sufis
July 19th – July 24th 2010
By entering the spiritual path, we embark on a journey of
unknown goal.
Everything is changing and fleeting. What we think is ours, will be torn from us, and we will receive gifts we could not even
dream of.
Spiritual teaching, God, Religion - all these are thoughts and concepts. Fana, the annihilation of Self, and Baqa, spiritual
resurrection: those are big words! But by means of Meditation, we build a field of force, in which they will become reality, and which eventually will transform our lives and ourselves.
It is this mysterious effect of our practices that we will be exploring en detail during our workshop.
The central focus will always be our own experience.
We will work a lot in small groups and face to face meditations, so that each participant will be able to work intensely on
their own themes. There will be the option of personal interviews.
In many meditations together we will explore the secrets of the breath, different Dhikrs, and we will engage ourselves in an
in-depth work with the Divine Names (Wazaïf).
This Workshop will include a daily early morning meditation and an evening program.
