INDIVIDUAL RETREAT
»All this talk and turmoil and noise and movement is outside the veil;
inside the veil is silence and calm and peace.«
Sufi mystic Bayazid Bistami
An essential part of the Camp, what we call “the secret heart of the camp”, is our beautiful, sun-flooded and sheltered
retreat-area. Here, in silence and in the presence of the magnificently beautiful nature exists the possibility to heal deeply
and transform by undertaking a one to four weeks long individual retreat.
Every summer many guests at the camp consider going on an individual retreat as an integral part of their spiritual training.
The individually guided retreat emphasizes personal transformation, and offers the retreatant an opportunity to immerse him or
herself in silence, seclusion, contemplation, meditation and spiritual practice for a period of undistracted time.
However, the individual retreat is considered an advanced training, so it will be necessary to have approval beforehand and
during the retreat the guidance of one of the retreat guides on our Staff. You will meet daily to receive practices to do
during the day and have time to discuss questions which may arise during the retreat.
A retreat is not an escape from responsibilities, nor a cure-all to alter consciousness. It is a catalyst for change and
meaningfulness and must be understood as an advanced form of spiritual training for which one needs to be properly prepared.
Again, if you have questions or concerns about this, please talk to one of our Retreat Guides!
The Retreat Guides on our Staff are qualified guides, who have undergone extensive training in the retreat process of the sufic
tradition and are familiar with all aspects of the retreat, physical, psychological or spiritual. You will find a list of
available Retreat Guides in the Information tent upon your arrival at Camp.

Aziz Dikeulias
I see retreats as the greatest opportunity to escape the everyday worries of our mostly ego-based lives and have a chance to become conscious of the other dimensions of our being. Every retreat is new and different according to our inner needs for unfoldment, nothing is or can be wasted and very important seeds are sawn into the soil of our heart and soul that unfold in time.
My considerable experience has taught me that one usually has to struggle against one’s conditioning and thought-patterns in the first part of the retreat so that one can surrender to the calling of the beloved in the latter part. Both parts are essential and cannot be bypassed.
As a retreat guide, I walk hand in hand with my charge without judging and full of acceptance and awe at the meaningfulness of it all, privileged to be able to be the midwife of the new birth.

Petra Parvati Pfleiderer

Zamyat Willand
In the Sufiorder, I am working as Representative, Retreatguide and a Healing Conductor in the Healing Order.
Next to my wonderful teachers on the spiritual path, life trained me as mother and grandmother and as healer to guide people
in their unfolding. Retreat means to me a journey towards the source, a journey home, to become step by step, whom I really am,
and become able to manifest this in everyday life.
