Singing to ‘Re-Unite’ and Heal Oneself

July 26th – July 31st 2010

Music is the religion of the future
Pir O Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan

... By the power of sound, one can evolve spiritually and experience all the different stages of spiritual perfection.
Music is the best medium for awakening the soul; there is nothing better. Music is the shortest and most direct way to liberation.
Pir O Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan

Music can teach us harmony
Pir O Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan

Through practicing, we shall experience how the different ways
(or Yoga) described in Hinduism are to be found in music and particularly in singing Dhrupad; the ancient sacred music of India.

The combinations of tones create the melody or Râga which will affect the various planes of our being, balancing the energies in us. Each tone corresponds to an organ of the body, to a sign of the zodiac, to a planet or to a Hindu god or goddess. Linking those elements together we shall proceed towards (Self) knowledge or Gyâna Yoga.

„Know yourself and you will know the universe and the gods“ said Socrates. Through singing and sound massage, we shall heal ourselves and others too. Through singing our hearts will open, our minds will shine, our emotions will be lighter and soon it will really be our soul that sings!
