WORKSTUDY

Those, working with us in the summer, set the tone and are the heartbeat of the camp. The fun, love, cooperation and harmony that we share become contagious to all.

To work during Camp means to, together with a crew, take care of about 150-300 guests: to help with cooking, cleaning and serving, to attend to the tea-kitchen and the dish-washing facilities, to tend to the needs of the retreatants, to take care of the children, to run the bookshop and the sound- and recording system, to welcome the arriving guests, to register them and help them with their questions, to drive the bus and in general to look after the running of all that has been built in the previous weeks.

You have two possibilities to participate in the work during the camp, as a participant in the work-study program or by being a member of the staff.

Participate in the workstudy-program

To be a participant in the Workstudy-program allows you to participate, while having a limited job, in the Camp-program and pay less. If it is your primary focus to follow the program, because you want to learn more about Sufism or because you are interested in one of the themes and/or one of the teachers, and if money is too tight to stay long enough for you to have all the time you need, then the work-study-program might offer a way for you.

The following guidelines apply for the Workstudy-program:

• Helpers in the Workstudy-program work 3-4 hours per day. They are working in a crew together with one or several staff members who coordinate and lead the group. The rest of the time you are completely free to participate in the programs.

• You pay half of the regular fee, with all conditions listed in the camp brochure.

• The minimum time of participation in the work-study program is one week.

• All helpers meet on the Sunday before the week starts at 2:30 pm with Igor near the Kitchen in Campra to get registered for their job and planned in. (Late comers meet with Igor at 6:00 pm at the info tent in the camp.)

• Depending on your work area, we will create a working schedule at the beginning of the week. It is essential for the smooth running of the camp that you follow this schedule and your job on time and with care.

• Participants in the work-study will meet regularly within their working group and will also form, as participants, support groups.
