Introduction
WHAT IF
Dear friends of the Summer Camp
Many of you who will receive this flyer have been participants at the summer camp, some once or a few times, some every year
and some never.
The first camp in Olivone took place in 1988, and was a continuation of almost 30 years of Pir Vilayat’s camps in various
places in the Alps. His Vision for the world was to build a beautiful world for beautiful people.
Over the years the camp has changed in many ways, in the early years it was almost exclusively Pir Vilayat teaching then his
students became teachers and we invited teachers from other traditions and disciplines. One of the unique features of the camp
is the mix of social and economic status and in the last few years there has more young people and children who greatly enrich
the camp.
We, the Zenith Institute, have been very reluctant to raise the price, because we want to keep this very unique mixture of
young people and those who might not be able to afford it. On the other hand during the last 5 years we really have struggled
to make it work financially, it is a huge and unique undertaking to construct and take down this village in the mountains every
year.
When I spoke to some participants last summer, they were surprised about our financial struggles, and spontaneously offered
financial support.
So, in order to keep this unique structure, the social mix, the age mix, we need some help from those who are better off, and
who share the vision of
What if all these different nationalities, ages, social and economic differences can be united in the search for a better today and a better future.
To help keep this great vision we are setting up a reserve and sponsorship fund which we can use to sponsor individual people and in emergencies. We hope that you will help us in building this beautiful village.
Please send your donation to the regular accounts mentioned in the brochure, but mark it as donation.
May we have many, many more inspiring summer camps.
Zahir Roehrs, Zenith Institute
PS: We now have teenagers and young adults, who took their first steps in the big tent help. It is just such a pleasure seeing everyone, young and old, arriving and blossoming every summer. Let’s keep it going !
