The marvelous surroundings of the mountains of the Tessin in Switzerland have the advantage of being quiet and secluded, yet at the same time offering easy access and transfer to and from hotels for those who prefer not to stay in tents. The altitude at the campsite is approx. 1500 m.
If you come by car, please refer to the map for directions. The campsite is halfway between Lukmanier Pass and the town of Olivone. Please watch for signs to Campra (this is a sports hotel). Our office and parking lots are located here. It is about 1 km from the camp, and we will provide a shuttle service to transport your luggage. You should be able to reach the camp in a day of driving from every major European city.
The closest airports are Lugano, Zürich and Milano. Zürich is best for international flights as it has a train station right in the airport. However, any other major airport will provide you with easy access to the train systems.
The closest train station is Biasca, on the major train route (Basel, Zürich to Chiasso/Milano). From there you can take a bus to Olivone (it leaves every hour), or even all the way up to Campra. We will run a shuttle service on Sundays from Olivone to the campsite. A phone number will be supplied with your registration confirmation.
If you arrive at other times during the week, you will need to take the bus from Olivone to Campra, where our office is located.
For train/bus connections, please have a look at www.sbb.ch. It’s an excellent website. Enter as arrival point Campra (this is where we are). If you can’t get a good connection, enter Olivone Posta. Sounds difficult? It’s quite easy, in fact.
