The Gifts of Conscious Eldering: Harvesting the gifts of Growing Older and Wiser

July 30th – August 2nd 2020

Retreat with Saki Lee

Dive deeply into the miracle of life and let the tips of your wings be burnt by the flame, let your feet be lacerated by the thorns, let your heart be stirred by human emotion, and let your soul be lifted beyond the earth.” ~ Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan

Welcome elders (55+) to our first ever online retreat!

In many ancient and indigenous cultures eldering has always been regarded as a sacred and honoured phase of life.  However, all too often in modern society, elders suffer from isolation, feelings of self-limitation, lack and fear.

But in reality, this period in life can be vibrant with great joy and self discovery, when the fruits of wisdom and creativity may be harvested and acknowledged, and when that which gives deep meaning and purpose may be witnessed and shared in appreciation with others.

This retreat is offered as a way to honour, explore and celebrate this important third phase in life.   Some of the practices we shall explore during this sacred time together aims at cultivating skills that lead to more balance, inner harmony,  self-compassion, and connectedness with self and others.  This may include:

·      Healing body-mind practices with movement and breath (qigong)

·      Sufi practices with prayer, light, magnetism,  sacred sound and meditation

·      Contemplative reflection on issues relevant to ageing well

·      Sacred wisdom circles for heart sharing together.

Our online retreat sessions will be limited to morning sessions.  During the afternoons, participants are encouraged to spend time in nature on their own with walking and contemplative inquiry practices.  In the evenings we shall come together to sing, meditate and share from the heart.

Please note:  those who live in a different time zone but would nonetheless  like to follow this retreat will have the opportunity to receive the recordings and have individual follow up sessions with Saki August 3 – 5 beginning at 15:00 CET.

Latif Brinck will also be available for individual sessions with participants, between 17:00 – 18:00 CET.
